Official “first flakes” definition:  The first day that the snow accumulation reaches one (1) measured inch and reported as such by WISC-TV’s Meteorologist at the station at 7025 Raymond Road in Madison, WI.

The minimum measurable amount is one (1) inch, and must remain on the ground long enough for the WISC meteorologists to make an official measurement.  The snowfall will not count unless the WISC meteorologist measures, records, and reports the snowfall as this winter’s first for the 2013/2014 season.

Rules: Channel3000.com will accept submissions through the online contesting platform until the first one inch of snowfall has been reported or through March 19, 2014 at midnight, whichever comes first. If one inch of snow does not accumulate by March 19, 2014, the prize will not be awarded.

Each contestant must submit their guess for the date of Madison’s first accumulated inch of snow for the winter of 2013/2014.

All entries eligible for prizes must be made 3 days (72hours) prior to 12:01AM on the day of the first accumulated inch of snowfall.

The entries with the correct date will be classified as a finalist of the contest. The winner of the prize will be selected at random from the group of finalists. Finalists will advance within one week of the "first flakes" date and a winner will be chosen within that week. 

The winner will be notified by email, mail, or phone within one (1) week of the "first flakes" determination. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Channel3000.com cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded. 

This Contest is open to legal residents of Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota who are 18 years of age or older. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. This offer is void where prohibited or restricted.
 
Prizes may not be substituted and are not refundable or redeemable for cash. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. 

By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to all the terms and conditions of these rules; agrees to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Contest judges; and consents to the use of his/her name, likeness and other information for publicity purposes. Each winner accepting a prize and each guest traveling with and/or accompanying the winner consents to the use of his/her name and/or likeness for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Each entrant waives the right to assert, as a cost of winning any prize, any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem a prize and any liability that might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem a prize. Winner is responsible for taxes and title fees. Each entrant releases each of the following from any and all liability with respect to or arising out of the acceptance, use, misuse or possession of any prize and/or the loss or misdirection of any prize: Television Wisconsin, Inc., Pandora Jewelry West Towne Mall, Sponsor and the Participating Company; their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, franchises, advertising and promotional agencies; and their respective officers, directors and employees. Television Wisconsin, Inc. reserves the right to cancel, amend and/or revoke this Contest due to printing errors or other mistakes. 

Television Wisconsin Inc. is not responsible for any problems/failures related to any contestant’s lost, stolen or misdirected entry. Incomplete entries will be disqualified.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.


Duplicate entries will be disqualified. 

Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.

Channel3000.com reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value. 

Channel3000.com reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.

Employees of Channel3000.com, Pandora Jewelry West Towne Mall, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible. 

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest. 

Entrants further grant to Channel3000.com the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
